En imagerie m\u00e9dicale, on les utilise sous la forme de <strong>rayons X<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ils sont aussi utilis\u00e9s en m\u00e9decine pour le traitement de certaines maladies, principalement des cancers. Les doses d\u00e9livr\u00e9es par les examens d&rsquo;imagerie radiologique sont entre 1000 et 10000 fois inf\u00e9rieures aux doses de radioth\u00e9rapie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;imagerie m\u00e9dicale est-elle la seule source d&rsquo;exposition aux rayonnements ionisants ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non, nous sommes quotidiennement expos\u00e9s \u00e0 de faibles doses de rayonnement ionisant naturels (cosmique, terrestre&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette exposition varie en fonction des lieux de vie. Par exemple, l&rsquo;exposition \u00e0 Clermont-Ferrand est entre deux et trois fois sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celle de Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certaines r\u00e9gions du monde ont des niveaux d&rsquo;exposition annuelle de plus de trente fois sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 celles de Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comment diminuer l&rsquo;exposition aux rayonnements ionisants ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deux grands principes sont mis en \u0153uvre au quotidien : la justification et l&rsquo;optimisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La justification r\u00e9side dans le fait que, comme dans tout acte m\u00e9dical, le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice attendu doit \u00eatre sup\u00e9rieur au risque. Bien que le risque des faibles doses ne soit pas d\u00e9montr\u00e9, la prudence est de prendre en compte qu&rsquo;elle puisse en \u00eatre responsable.
